Parent/Athlete Concussion Information
All Volunteers are required to complete a Background Check and the Abuse Awareness training. These must be done every year.
Managers, Coaches, Team Safety Parents, and Umpires must also complete the Concussion Awareness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and Diamond Leader trainings. However, these need only be completed once in a volunteer's career with Concord American.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE TRAINING COURSES:
Little League Abuse Awareness, Safety Awareness, First Aid Awareness, and Diamond Leader trainings:
- Click the following link: Little League University
- Create a new account or sign in if already registered
- Select ALL from the menu on the left.
- Select and add the above courses to your list.
- Click on the "Start" button to begin.
- Complete the training (takes about 30-40 min)
- Certificates are emailed to you, however, to retrieve your certificate right away, go to your Learner Dashboard, refresh your screen, download it.
- Managers, coaches, and team safety parents must print and place the certificate in your manager's binder.
- The three Awareness trainings must be completed every year. The Diamond Leader Training is only once in a volunteer's career.
Concussion Training:
1. Click this LINK to go to the CDC Concussion Awareness site.
2. Login or Register a New Account
3. Go to the Course Catalog and search for: HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training for Coaches
4. Complete the Pretest and then the training (approximately 30 min)
5. Click to download/print the Full Certificate
6. Print the completed certificate and place it in your Manager's binder.
7. This training only needs to be completed once in a volunteer's career.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training:
1. Click the following link: https://epsavealife.org/sca-prevention-training/
2. Sign In or Complete the registration
3. Out-of-state leagues MUST select "Yes, I live or work in California." Technically, you are working in California while attending the tournament.
4. Select the first box and follow the prompts to complete the training and quiz.
5. Print the completed certificate and place it into your manager's binder.
6. This training only needs to be completed once in a volunteer's career.
